Categories this year include new pro categories for digital commentary and Hurricane Helene coverage.
The student contest has been greatly expanded and also includes special categories for Hurricane Helene coverage.
Entries may be submitted beginning Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025 and the deadline to enter is midnight Feb. 24, 2025. The deadline has been extended by East Tennessee SPJ board from Feb. 17.
The contest platform remains the same. If you have entered in any of the last few years, you can use your existing username and password. The password can be reset if you have forgotten it.
Entries in this year’s contest will be judged by the Oklahoma SPJ Pro Chapter. The winners will be announced May 15 at Maple Hall in downtown Knoxville (details and ticket information will be announced closer to the event).
Last year’s contest had some 198 entries from journalists and news organizations across East Tennessee.
