Legislative forum set for Saturday, Jan. 22

East Tennessee SPJ and League of Women Voters Knoxville/Knox County

The East Tennessee chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists (ETSPJ) once again will partner with the League of Women Voters Knoxville/Knox County (LWVKKC) to hold the annual legislative forum of the Knox County delegation.

The date is Saturday, Jan. 22, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the City of Knoxville Public Works Center, 3131 Morris Ave., off Lorraine Street near Middlebrook Pike.

Jesse Mayshark, an ETSPJ board member and co-founder of Compass Knox, will serve as moderator. Access for one-on-one, in-person media interviews also will be available at the conclusion of the forum. The wearing of masks is requested.

Because of capacity restrictions for the building (25 max), in-person attendees will be limited to the Knox County delegation of senators and representatives, organizers of the event from ETSPJ and LWV, and media members.

If legislative staff members also attend the event and max is reached, an organizer will leave the room to allow space for staff and media.

The event also will be livestreamed, so that members of the public can watch remotely or view later on social media. (Livestream details to be provided closed to the event.)
