Candidate forums set for City of Knoxville Election

Two candidates forums are scheduled for the City of Knoxville Regular Election in November.

The League of Women Voters of Knoxville/Knox County and its partner organizations are holding forums for Municipal Judge on Oct. 9 and for candidates for City Council on Oct. 16.

The judicial forum will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 6900 Kingston Pike, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 9.

Incumbent Judge John Rosson Jr. and challenger Tyler Caviness have been invited. Scott Barker of the Compaas will moderate.

The City Council forum will be held in the main auditorium of West High School, 3300 Sutherland Ave., from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 16.

All candidates have been invited and Jesse Fox Mayshark of the Compass will moderate.

Early voting for the Regular Election is Oct 18-Nov. 2 at six locations in the city. Election Day is Nov. 7.

Last day to register to vote is Tuesday, Oct. 10. Last day to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 31.

This is a City election, not a county-wide election.
